On October 18, 2023, the agency received a report regarding an 11-year-old child pronounced deceased in his home. Law enforcement was contacted and initiated a criminal investigation. The Medical Examiner’s Office noted no signs of trauma to the child and determined the cause of death was due to controlled substance toxicity
